Where each paddle sits

Each dot is one paddle. Darker areas are where most paddles cluster. Paddles without published figures for both axes are not plotted — placing them at zero would create a false trend.

How we match paddles

We use the five scores (Power, Pop, Control, Handling, Forgiveness), each calculated from published specs on a 0–100 scale. Distance = square root of the sum of squared score differences, plus 4 per mm of core-thickness difference, 0.5 per gram of weight difference, and 10 if the shape differs. We look first at paddles within ±2 mm core thickness and of the same shape. Only paddles with all five scores are included, and same-brand versions with identical specs are shown once. Paddles more than 25 apart by this measure are not listed as similar.

Generation is an industry nickname, not an official standard. Where the maker does not state it, we infer it from the construction and release year.

Stock status is read from the maker’s own page. Most makers do not announce restock dates, so "not announced" is the usual answer.
